I hope all the regs have a safe and healthy stretch in that period. But yes, the film exists, and it's been delivered from Jerry Lewis's personal collection to safe keeping with the Library of Congress. Lewis, however, insists that no one see the film for 10 more years. Who knows why?

The film is a drama, which deals with the title character being forced by the Nazis to lead Jewish children into the gas chamber.

I would actually like to see it but maybe the film is just terrible, therefore the embargo.  Question

He probably assumes he'll be dead by then, or too senile to care about people laughing at him for the wrong reasons. Good for him, though. He could have destroyed it, but he realizes it's an important piece of bad movie history.

I wonder how many unknown actors thought this was their big break, only to find out it was getting buried...

I mean, you're in this business long enough, you learn that lost in post production Hell feeling, but when the director decides he made a mistake, and this should never be seen by anyone, ever... Man!

Whatever his reason for changing his mind . . .?! I agree with Rev. Powell, especially as Jerry wanted the film destroyed, after he died. As to whether it is bad or just "bad" enough to be good, those who want to see it, will get a chance to see if for themselves. I myself am no particular fan of Jerry's. I like some of his stuff, and dislike other of his stuff, but . . .?! I'd be interested in seeing this, if for no other reason, then I've known about it for years.
