While trying to escape a fire five friends unwillingly enter an old slasher film called 'Camp Bloodbath' during a theatrical screening. Now trapped in the movie they must endure cheesy 1980s slasher cliches while they are forced to interact with a corny cast of victims. Their only hope to get back home is to stick with the final girl character who is going to kill the Jason Vorhees-like maniac at the end of the film - or will she not this time?

Strong internet buzz and plenty praise, kind of delivered what I expected. Director Todd Strauss-Schulson, who's claim to fame is A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011) unleashes his love for 1980s slasher movies as a seemingly "clever" throwback, with an emotional subplot that is actually the main focus of the film.
I enjoyed it for what it is and it is certainly worth checking out.

Great Movie actually...had a lot of interesting ideas. Instead of getting just thrown into the world of the movie it really feels like they are in the movie. For example the scene where the movie doesn't continue until they do something specific and just repeats itself or the effect that is shown when a flashback is coming up etc.
Was fortunate to see this on one evening together with Lumberjack Man which was also a good parody of slasher films in general.

I even enjoyed this more on my second viewing the other day. Definitely a top ten best of 2015.

I enjoyed it but I wished the humor was a little more go-for-broke.

The sub plot about the girl wanting to stay in the film-within-the-film in order to spend more time with her late "Mom" was a bit of a downer.

Yes, but it's exactly that what makes the film special. It's easy to laugh at an old genre full of stupid movies, but way harder to do it in an affectionate way.

My favourite bits where those with the horny-est camp monitor, especially when they ask her to dance in order to lure the killer.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

I was wondering how you could do a true homage to 80's horror and keep a PG-13 rating.
