Looks like this one is back on, with Steven S. DeKnight directing (first time directing a movie, but he has been the showrunner for Daredevil). Del Toro is now producing. My big question though, is... will Ron Perlman be returning?

Or will he (Del Toro) ever get At The Mountains Of Madness made?

Sure.  Right after Duke Nukem is updated.

AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS would be beyond awesome if done properly.  Rushed and Hollywood-ified and I'd just say "No thanks."  del Toro is one to do it right, but only if he retains courage in the face of whoever is backing the project.

No real input on PACIFIC RIM 2.  Liked the first one okay, but this genre where every scene is an endless string of superlatives wears on me.  "It's the biggest one yet!"  "It's even BIGGER than the last one!"  "Now there are TWO!"  "The gate is open and they are ALL coming through!"  Lot's modern action movies follow this formula and it's just not my cup-o-tea.

Yes and no.

Yes Ron Perlman will be back, or so it is rumored, in what is now known as "Pacific Rim : Maelstrom."

And no. "At the Mountains of Madness" is in what is known as "developmental hell," but . . .?! at this time, it does look like the film will never be made.

Yeah, I don't have high hopes of ever seeing it, and I think Del Toro is one of the few directors who could do the story justice (I also think he'd stick fairly closely to the story). When it was announced that Tom Cruise was going to star and James Cameron was backing the movie I really thought that would be enough for it to see the light of day (even if Cruise wouldn't have been my number one choice for it).
