I squealed like a little girl when Donnie Yen appeared. What is really superb is that a 50 year old Hong Kong actor is in a big budget Hollywood movie, and unrelated to the 90's influx of HK talent into Hollywood like Chow Yun Fat, John Woo, Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam and others.
It's really surprising he didn't get more roles over here. He was big throughout the 90s and 00s, into now - and he grew up in America only going to Hong Kong after the age of 10 or 11, and his english is therefore the best of any Hong Kong martial arts star I know of, and one of the best of any Chinese actors in Hong Kong or China actually. His accent is also American (not British-accented, as some HK actors havea from the colonial influence) with some mild traces of Cantonese influence, which seems like it'd help even more. I've heard he was quite egotistical when he was younger, makes me think maybe he wasn't willing to give up the influence and control he had on HK productions to go to Hollywood.
