Lied to my children about Santa. They seem to get it anyway. Symbol, nice tradition, not real, just a fun idea. Children are savvier than people think.

Honestly I think the idea of a strange, funnily-dressed old man coming into our house in the middle of the night would stress my oldest out anyway. She's got a lot of sense. Heck, when she was real little she got mad because in a picture book Santa was apparently snapping a whip at his reindeer and said, "He shouldn't hit those!!!"

I keep wanting to post on this thread, but I can't seem to think of anything common. Then again, what is common these days?

Maybe for this forum and our favorite kinds of films, I could say:
