Okay, keep in mind, as I've said before, for various reasons I haven't been online much in the past four years except for looking up jobs at the local Job Center. Anyway, we just got Internet at the house back in April and I'm finding all kinds of "new" stuff that's probably old hat to you guys...
Tineye.com (and other like it). So you can now do reverse look ups on images. Holy crap, that's awesome! The other day I even saw a short avi clip I couldn't ID, so I took a screen cap of it, sent it over to the website, and they sent me to a forum where someone else had posted it and ID what movie it was from. Then the other day, I saw a pic of an attractive woman who I thought looked familiar, so I uploaded that and found it it was supermodel Kate Upton.
Another neat thing is Firefly, an app that came with my new tablet (most AWESOME bday present EVER!). Basically, you take a picture with it, or just hit a button, and it'll try to ID whatever book, song or movie, it's listening to (or took a picture of.) The other day I had it in the car and it rapidly IDed four different songs. Another time I took a partial picture of a book I had sitting on my bed and it pulled up the Amazon link to it. Granted, odds are good I'm not going to have my tablet within reach when I'm in situations where I'm like, "Hey, what song is that?" but still...
So, how about you guys? Any new stuff out there you're still amazed at?
Course, frankly, tablets (and web browsing phones) in GENERAL still kind of amaze me. I mean, they fact we can do all stuff that we could do on a laptop as something as small as that still kind of blows my mind.
