I'm a Mac...

The next super villain thread got me thinking about who would be cool to put in a new Star Trek film.  I'm wondering if there are any villains from earlier movies/shows/books/comics/etc that would be good in an official film (as in actually made by Paramount and not a fan film).

I would nominate Garth of Izar.  I think he would be a cool villain for an upcoming film.  Of course Steve Ihnat died many years ago but even so if he was still around he'd probably be too old for the new film timeline.  Or he could've been cast as a different villain.

I don't think we ever saw Kirk and Co handle the Borg or Q.  That could be interesting.

Technically, they did go up against a member of the Q continuum.  They faced some omnipotent alien in ST:TOS  who in later EU books was retconned into a Q.

I'd like to see the Gorn species show up.  Have a modern recreation of that classic fight between Kirk and the rubber suited lizard man.  And while they only appeared in ST: Voyager, I was always a fan of Species 8472:

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...
