I dunno, as you guys know (cause I keep repeating it too much) I've been away from the site for awhile, back for just over two months and I still feel a bit disconnected so, I had an idea, maybe we need a "introduce yourself" type thread?  It'd be a good way to get to know one another, maybe talk about some basic info.

I guess I'll start... I'm Mike, I'm from Missouri.  Currently unemployed, hobbies include bad movies (of course) spending waaay too much time on the net, Photoshoping stuff (got any old pics you want fixed?  Let me know!), and that's about it.

Can't think of much more off-hand, but that should get everyone started.

I'm sleep deprived so won't write slabs but this year has been particularly interesting:

Quit job of ten years in high end audio visual.

Completed a Graduate diploma in education with the Masters portion to be completed next year hopefully.

Had a baby daughter named Ripley who is now almost two months old and just starting to smile and laugh

*not in order of importance

[Wow, Russell!  I went to OHSU.  Have very good memories of that VA -- had very good teachers there.
And I finally just beat the gun-toting Yakuza boss (knife gang) in Renegade!  Been trying to do that for a long time.]

My real name is Seth Scott.
45, married with kids, and most of my growing up was in Michigan.
Got my MD in 2001 and am a family doctor in western Washington state (soon to become part of Kaiser Permanente).
I love my family, God, science fiction and fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons, video games (especially 80's-90's coin ops), complicated board games (like Arkham Horror).

Favorite poet, "ee cummings."
Favorite writer would be down to either Fred Saberhagen or William Gibson, versus some more literary example.

Don't drink, don't smoke.  (What do I do?)

Alex Corbett
42. In Febuary I'll have been married 4 kids.

Currentlly work in the RAF, where I've been for fifteen and a half years. Looking forward to leaving in another six and a half, although I am currently enjoying a two month long holiday following a six month deployment.

Other than collecting bad movies (estimated to be around 5000 DVD's), I like roleplaying and wargaming (generally D&D & Bolt Action) although I'll play most games. Most rooms in our house have a book shelf, including the en suite bathroom in my mancave. My favourite authors are James Herbert, HP Lovecraft & Terry Pratchett.

Cool that you went to OHSU!  Their cafeteria is a million times better than ours.  Expensive but delicious.

Renegade is such an evil game.. good on you for beating it-- I assume you mean the arcade one.  The NES one is much easier, though the last level is such a maze you have to write a map to it.

I loved that Adam Ant song when it came out.

Hello.

My name is Matt, and I'm an alcoh...no, wait, wrong crowd.

My name is Matt.
I'm 53 (and damned tired as well.)
I'm pretty much a recluse other than going to work and being forced to buy groceries now and then.
I love crappy movies, though I pretty much draw a serious line in the early 90s and have a fairly low opinion of most stuff released after 1993.
I eat too much of things I shouldn't, even though I know better.
I keep hoping to enter into a wonderful dream in my sleep and never wake up from it. Unfortunately, life seems to have other plans, though I'll be damned if I know what they are.
And I HATE the nightmare candy known as "circus peanuts".

Indianasmith here,  real name Lewis B. Smith, 53 years of age.
I'm a lifelong bad movie fan, an eclectic reader, and a goat rancher.
I pastor a church, teach school, and write novels which really ought to sell more copies than they actually do.
I know karate, I love to sing even though I'm not very good, and I've been married for 32 years to my childhood sweetheart.
I have twin daughters and I also collect Indian artifacts and fossils.
I'm a US Navy veteran.  I have held an Australian death adder.
Favorite authors - Stephen King, Harry Turtledove, and Lincoln Preston and Douglas Child for fiction.
Nonfiction - David McCullough, Lee Strobel, and Doris Kearnes Goodwin.
I have the world's sexiest nostrils.

Michigan?  Neat, that's where my Grandparents on my mom's side are from.  You live in Upper or Lower?  (Mine were lower.)

You're a doctor?  Cool!  Free medical advice!  Woot! Woot!

Bump in case there are any new people here that want to participate.  (Or old people who, for whatever reason, still haven't said anything, but we won't name names...)
