I belong to the UNIVERSAL MONSTER ARMY also!  Got beat to sh!t there a few years back.  I started a very popular thread about showing pix of your collection.  I dared mention that I was planning to sell it all eventually.  The webmasters are a mixed bag - except one - a sometime customer of mine and, frankly, a coward.  I dared sell to him when he contacted me - a big NO NO there!  He broke his own forum's rules which I was unaware of.  One of the webmasters I actually like, but, it's all belonging to the private club or not.  Do you have a monstrous collection?  "I'm not impressed" (One of several attacks I took and still remember well).  The experience there accelerated my selling of my large (but "unimpressive") monster collection.  Lots of name dropping, failure to realize the world is full of many persons that you may not actually know but have been buying and selling and collecting for decades.  Apparently a few heavyweights there with deep pockets get jealous if you garner attention.
Plus, they changed the format a couple of years ago and eliminated all non-monster threads, including a thriving music thread started by (you guessed it) me!

That group's not very active, I rarely see anything there. The group I'm talking about is a private group and I'm sworn to secrecy.  Wink

I think the days of forums are long lost now, what with Facebook, Twitter, etc.

I am actively in three forums: here, a Weird Al one, and one dedicated to my favorite vacation town: Wildwood NJ.

On Facebook, however, I'm on a few groups.

I'm on AtariAge.com forums.  Fun to talk about old games, but we got all sorts of off-topic stuff too.

Also on Blazersedge.com and Buffalorumblings.com where we talk about the Portland Trailblazers and Buffalo Bills, respectively (sports teams).

I'm on Facebook too.. I get posts from a funny group called Bro Talk.

I just saw Weird Al in concert in Austin Tuesday night. I was in the nosebleed seats, and for some reason I couldn't really understand most of the lyrics. But it was a fun concert.

As for other forums, I am not part of any. It took me a couple years to finally stop lurking and join this one. And even though I've been a member here for well over a decade, You can see by my post count that I don't say a lot, and I come read stuff here almost every day. I guess I'm just not a big conversationalist, at least online. I am fairly active on Facebook.

I could say a lot the same as HappyG and Derf.  The forums I was on took a dive due to Facebook, Twitter and such.  The only other forums (fora?) I am active on now are a couple of the few remaining 'horse' boards and a private board or two made up equestrians.  Oh: and one fantasy/sf lit site (btw: the equine forums are infamous as minefields.  One wrong step and it all goes to heck.  The 'trainwrecks' can be impressive.  People enjoy that as a spectator sport.  Yish.)  I love this place for the contrast.  Cheers

I'm on Facebook.  I post a bit there.  'Fairly active' is probably accurate.  Mostly I read what comes up from various groups I have joined.  But I check in here daily, too!

I've been trying to find the nerve (and the time!) to take a look there.  Good to know 'who' you are, Trev!   Thumbup

I've been to around 4 Al concerts, all with relatively decent seats.  I got to meet him at 3 of them.  My facebook profile pic is literally me with him at his tourbus.  I was happy. BounceGiggle
