So, yeah, been feeling REAL tired lately... last several months been having trouble sleeping.  I mean, I've always been a bit of a night owl, but usually I don't stay up ALL right until recently.  A lot of times i feel too restless but other times I try to sleep but have bad memories creeping into my head of... well, recent events.

But today is particularly nutty, because it doesn't seem logical.  I mean, I went to bed early (early for me anyway) around 1am.  Work up around 8 or so, used the bathroom, went back to bed and then woke up.. at 3:30!!  And get this, here it is, almost 5 and I'm try to do some work on the computer and I frankly feel like going back to bed!

WTF??

How many grams of sugar a day do you consume, and what type of sugar is it?

Also: consider sleep apnea. TRUST ME, it can drag you down! Back in 07 I took a sleep test to find out why I wanted to fall asleep while driving! Great decision for me. Feeling a lot better since I got my new machine.

My guess is your body is trying to recover from an extended period of sleep deprivation. If you haven't try melatonin for a while and see if it helps you regulate your sleep. Ambien (prescription) also helped me get through a period of bad insomnia. Lots of people have weird side effects from it but when I took it as directed only when needed I simply slept like a log.

I know that my CPAP changed my life after I was diagnosed with sleep apnea.  I couldn't sit down for five minutes without dozing off - rather embarrassing during church and school assemblies!  Now I'm getting deep, restful REM sleep every night and I feel tons better!

Actually, I do have sleep apnea.  Or at least I did (probably do again.)  I was using a CPAP machine, then I went through a period where I couldn't use but had lost a lot of weight (not exactly voluntarily) but I apparently didn't snore in my sleep anymore.  The problem is my machine is broke, and the local medical supply says they can't repair it because it's out of date, I'd have to buy a new one, which is about $600, which is about $550 more than what I currently have.  (Still haven't been able to find a job since the last place I worked at fired me.)

So, not quite sure how to fix that...  Bluesad

Shop EBay and Craigslist for a used one! That's what my boss did, and got a good one for $75.

It could also be your thyroid. Are you gaining weight? Is your skin dry? Is your hair not growing?  Question I have Throid issues-thats why I'm so short-5'2"-I was stunted by it as a child-all my brothers are tall.

Well, now I know where my friend got the name Ambien Walrus. As I live alone, I don't think I want to take that stuff.

Actually, I mentioned that to my doctor and they did a blood test on me, so I think my thyroid's normal.  It's a good suggestion though!  :)

Ok-you said you live alone-I did too for many, many years. One starts to live in their own mind. Even a small thing-like getting out of the house-socializing-really helps. Thats what I did-except it turned me into a raging drunk. Bad side effect of being lonley and trying to cure it by going to bars.  Bluesad

Something I thought of was how tired I would feel at work when a certain individual was there.  This guy had an aura of negativity around him.  Just being around him made me feel exhausted.  I didn't have as much of a problem when he wasn't there.
