Over the weekend I got my test copy of my book. I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy because I was holding a physical copy of my book. Then I was sad because the printsize and the formatting looked like s**t. And it was all my mistake because I didn't format the word document to the book size. Odd because I'd assumed when I reviewed the book it looked good and that the pages automatically formatted. So I ended up spending 4 hours on Sunday morning toying with the formatting.

While formatting the document to the book size, I decided to reformat the book to my earlier setting.

For example I had a line that does something like this:

Her watch told her, it was getting close to 7 o’clock.
She slanted her head and took another peek.
It was frustrating, the tunnel was silent,
she emitted a long sigh before -
                                                                                             rotating the lifeline again.
                                                                                                      Incredibly striking.
                                                                                                             very sensual!

But I was forced to reformat this because Booksie, Wattpad and Ebook wouldn't keep the text at right aligned without scatting pieces of the text onto another line and making my little message confusing.

So the ebook would have this version:

Her watch told her, it was getting close to 7 o’clock.
She slanted her head and took another peek.
It was frustrating, the tunnel was silent,
she emitted a long sigh before -
rotating the lifeline again.
Incredibly striking.
very sensual!

The original seemed more of an impact because I'm forcing the readers eyes to move to the right side of the book. Anyway this was part of the 4 hour reformatting of the book. I do think I have more parts work on, and my wife thinks I should include a picture of myself (which won't happen until next week), so the paper version won't be ready for a few more weeks.

Is a picture of the author necessary?

MS Word help... Does anybody know a trick on adding page numbers on the footer, but skipping a few pages in.
