Yeah-I know-it's "passe"-a relic- but for me-I -I...
Back in 1980,I went to NYC. I had a big brother-Mike. He introduced me to punk rock. At the time,my Michigan ass was listening to Sabbath,Hendrix,Zepplin-that kinda s**t. I still love that music. But Mike-he was into the Ramones-who were from NYC,the NY Dolls,Johnny Thunder-NYC s**t-. I didnt real hook on to it untill 1984-when I went back to NYC-and I seen the Dead Boys at the Mudd Club. I got turned on to Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys-and-still one of my favorites-the Cramps.
I have notice all the folks who usta jam on punk with me-they moved on. I STILL LIKE PUNK! I still have that "f**k the world" attitude. I may be 54 years old-but I still burn with anger and life. I aint never gonna say die!

I like how -in the middle of hillbilly country-Lux does his thing and goes apes**t.

I never liked punk music much, still don't. However, in high school I hung out with the punk crowd because they were the only people at my school who were interesting. When we listened to stuff together we tried to come up with compromises we both liked, like David Bowie and Frank Zappa. Actually it was one of the punkers who introduced me to jazz in my junior year of high school when we were trying to find something we could both stand to listen to.

I still listen to this one, 'cause it's almost more a comedy album than a punk album:

I did always like punk movies like REPO MAN.

the Sex Pistols are likely my LEAST favorite punk band-they really didnt do much work. In fact-I dont care much for Brit punk-It's more a fashion statement for them.  f**k all that-the mohawks and s**t.

The thing with punk-unlike its basterd cousin metal-is the variety-you got the Bad Brains, the Dead Kennedys, the Ramones, the Cramps,X Ray Spex, the Birthday Party,Blondie-so reggae, political comment,50's rock and roll,rockabilly,jazz,freeform,disco-it just can be anything.

I found in a record store in Irvington, NJ DEAD KENNEDYS Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables sealed with the original album art on the back... I opened it... wish I'd kept it.  That was a long time ago.

The Clash are pretty spot on, though.  But I agree.

Punk is an attitude-not a time frame. I wish there were more punks. 100 punks rule!
Check out a young Billy Idol in GenX!

They even founded Epitaph Records and went on to sign numerous punk bands since the 80s.
