Newt me dear-Gwangi was 21.  It's a Willis O'Brien wnated to make it-but he died.Thats very much the reason Harryhausen did this-in honor of his mentor.Amazing film! Its getting harder to find stop motion films-I dont know if we can hit 100.This is gonna be tough! I have lots more in my brain-but I like to drag s**t out.

How much stop motion does a film need to be considered a stop motion film?  It was a pretty common FX technique til CG overran everything.  Even It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World had a short stop motion segment, to show a fire engine ladder go crazy, I believe.

I'm not counting It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World yet, but I will count:

40) Empire Strike Back

Can we add the Christmas Holiday Rankin Bass stuff because there's a few of those worth mentioning (think Rudolph was already added)? Actually if you research stop-motion in films, I think a 100 is possible (I mean there's stop motion in some films some don't realize like Robocop films and Ghostbusters, etc. and there's quite a few full stop-motion animated too).

In the meantime:

41) James and the Giant Peach (1996)

RC already listed a TV show, Land of the Lost, so Rankin Bass' specials should be fine.

JaseSF mentioned the old Videocraft specials, but didn't post any. To get this going again let's try:

43) Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer: Already Listed, Sorry.

43) Rudolph's Shiny New Year: https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-mozilla-002&hsimp=yhs-002&hspart=mozilla&p=rudolph%27s+shiny+new+year#id=4&vid=3ef7519573edc2b15c9cae1b44db0272&action=click

45) The Day Time Ended

http://www.badmovies.org/movies/timeended/

Not the first I'd think of , but it has it's fair share of stop-mo FX, including a very smoothy animated dinosaur/alien/monster battle. (I can't tell what those creatures are supposed to be.  They're well detailed & animated tho.)
