I believe this to be one of those inspired by true events type of affairs. Kids and a teacher on a field trip somehow get mixed up with two criminals and wind up with the bus being hijacked and later being held hostage at an empty grain silo. I remember one of the kids being pretty feisty and putting up a good fight.

That's all I got! Any thoughts?

although it's 1970s, that could well be TRIP WITH THE TEACHER - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070834/?ref_=nv_sr_1

- the imdb description says a 'gang' of psycho bikers, but in fact there's only 2 of them... rest of your description fits not too badly

Nah, It's not Trip With The Teacher. I have seen that though. Zalman King is interesting to me for some reason...

This movie was definitely a made for TV movie that aired on basic television. We didn't have cable in our area until the early '90's.
I suppose this movie could've been shown up until about '93 at the latest.

Thanks!

This could be FORTRESS (1985) with Rachel Ward.

yeah that's the only thing I've seen him in... good seedy villain. I've not seen Blue Sunshine which he's in as well.

sorry I couldn't help a fellow zombie out, maybe Trev's got it :)

Nope, not it. I skimmed through it though and wow, I really need to check the rest of that one out for sure. And from the director of Dark Age even! I remember the school bus really playing an integral part of the movie I am thinking of.
