I saw Atlantis the Lost Empire for the first time in years and was surprised by it's rating of 49% on Rotten Tomatos.
Even the audience score was surprisingly low. On the other hand Boondock Saints has an abysmal 20% critic score but
somehow has an audience score of 91%. Meanwhile, Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, which was in my humble opinion generic paint by numbers trash
has a high critic and audience score. Weirdest of all is how Spy Kids has an extremely high critic rating of 93% while the audience rating is 46%.
I've never seen that before.

It got me thinking about the disconnect between critics and audiences and I wanted to know about films you disagree with most critics on.

Winter's Tale (2014) metascore: 31 / My Rating: 3/5 (good)
As Above, So Below (2014) metascore: 38 / My Rating: 3/5 (good)
Red Lights (2012) metascore: 36 / My Rating: 3/5 (good)

I believe critics were pretty harsh on most of Kubrick's films, upon initial release.

Remember that time the Razzies were so dumb they nominated Stanley Kubrik for worst director for The Shining?

I rue his death, but I also rue paying any attention to his opinions.

While he has written a number of books about his favorite films, he has also written a number of books about his least favorite films. Though, the only one I could find on the shelves of the local library was A Horrible Experience of Unbearable Length : More Movies That Suck. Though, it is enough to show my disagreements with him--Roger Ebert.

Disagreements
2 to 0 with 2 being the highest.

Conan the Barbarian (2011) 1.5
I Am Number 4 (2011) 1.5
National Treasure : Book of Secrets (2007) 2
Pirates of the Caribbean : on Stranger Tides (2011) 2
Prince of Persia : the Sands of Time (2010) 2
Red Riding Hood (2011) 1
Season of the Witch (2011) 2
The Spy Next Door (2010) 1.5

Not that I always disagreed with him.

Agreements
Quantum of Solace (2008) 2
Robin Hood (2010) 2

(80% disagree. 20% agree.) Which is why I pay no attention to his opinions.

10,000 BC

I like this movie; it sort of has an old-school epic feel, but it currently has a Metascore of 34.

(And this is my 777th post. Lucky me.  TeddyR)

2004's THE ALAMO.

Far and away the most accurate Alamo movie ever made, standout performances from Jason Patric and Billy Bob Thornton - but it flopped dismally at the box office and was dismissed as an incomprehensible mess by critics.

Mortal Kombat 5/5

Who the f**k are the people who hates Mortal Kombat? The sequel was hot trash but the first was a good video game adapted flick. "Those were $500 sunglasses, a***ole." That's a classic for me at least.

As for Excorcist 2...well you're on your own there lol.

For me it is Spider-Man 3 (liked it more than 2) and Napoleon Dynamite.

Movies we like but the critics hated?  On this board that's probably a VERY wide net.

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...
