Friday the 13th gets ANOTHER reboot

They're calling it a reboot anyway.  They're also calling it Friday the 13th part 13.  How it can be a reboot and a sequal at the same time I don't get. 

WHY we need for it to be a reboot when we just had a reboot seven or eight years ago, I don't get either. 

They have released this casting call though. 

Male, Caucasian, 12 years old ONLY SEEKING IDENTICAL TWINS W/ TV AND FILM CREDITS. MUST BE UNDER 5 FOOT. NO EXCEPTIONS. Lengthy and awkward. A dark, ominous child, who has severe psychological issues. Must have a very electric and expressive face (you will be painting the scene with your facial expressions), as this role does not speak. YOUNG JASON will grow into the pyscho-killer JASON. SUPPORTING ROLE. MUST BE ATLANTA BASED.

So yeah,  origin story.  Again.  And it looks like they didn't learn anything from the Halloween reboot.  Nobody wants to see the killers past.  We just want the killing.

I actually loved the HALLOWEEN reboot that Rob Zombie did.  I thought the origin story really fleshed out the character of Michael Myers.
That being said, it's FRIDAY THE 13TH.  More boobs, more blood, more stupid teenagers dying for being stupid.  What's not to like?

the next F13 has obviously been in the pipeline for years, I've been following some aspects if it.

pretty sure at one stage it was going to jump on the 'found footage' bandwagon but that bandwagon has now sailed. however I think I'd still rather see a found footage based F13 than a 'origins' thing......

not against them trying something different but cant help thinking it will turn out lame whatever they do.
