This was to attend a film archivist's congress there at the end of April and for one reason or another, I can't go.

I want to be Ripley when I grow up.

Nooooo!   Bluesad   You're supposed to archive the films, not yourself!

Aww, that is a shame, brother, but hey, just pat yourself down real intrusively like they would at the airport, buy a Hollywood sign t-shirt, stand under a heat lamp eating a one-pound taco, and go drive through the worst rush-hour traffic you can find while listening to KRTH-101 online, top it off by watching Spanish-language TV, and you'll feel like you've been there.

Next year in the holy land, right?

I missed a chance to return - I guess I still regret it. Was just a few jabs away, I should have stayed around longer. Everyone in LA is lying all the time, and it's actually less expensive to go out over there as long as you aren't just eating out every night. I actually really enjoyed both of these aspects of the city - multilayer mindgames are fun.
