Just because a film is perceived to have failed at the American box office, does not make it a "bad" film.

Thus, here are some examples of "good" films, and may haps some surprises, that failed at the box office.

Agatha
The Alamo (1960)
Alice in Wonderland (1933)
Androcles and the Lion
Angels in the Outfield (1951)
Babe : Pig in the City

The Big Trail
The Blue Bird (1940)
The Bounty
A Bridge Too Far
Brigadoon
Bugsy Malone
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)
Carnival of Souls
Citizen Kane
