A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

« on: June 25, 2017, 08:58:44 PM »

When we did the first round of "Appreciation Threads" in 2010, my friend ER was a newcomer to this forum who didn't post a whole lot.  But over the last few years, she has become one of our stalwarts, and is responsible for some of the most fun and interesting threads posted here!  Some of her stuff gets a lot of responses (the "Two Truths, One Lie" game, for example), and others have gone unappreciated (her "Zombienado" screenplay was a hoot that just quietly dropped out of sight), but she never gives up, and she never gets boring.  We've known each other for years, and I think she's been a great addition to this place.  She isn't a fountain of B-movie trivia like some of us, but she is a wealth of knowledge on obscure topics of all sorts, and she remembers EVERYTHING she has ever learned.   She is far and away the best writer on the forum, and is purely and simply one of the most interesting people I have ever known.

So here's to you, ER, for all you do to make this place fun and interesting!

ER writes more interesting posts than anyone here. (Seriously, I don't know how she finds the time!) Funny, too. Plus, she appreciates my sense of humor!

Probably one of the darkest senses of humor that is actually unleashed on the forum, but she does it in a fairly nice way. Plus, she has a lovingly twisted imagination that seems to have no end.

"Gooble, gobble, gooble, gobble. One of us! One of us!"

P.S. Anyone who thinks the above quote came from SOUTH PARK should be ashamed of themselves. Yeah, I'm a weird movie snob. Proud of it. Not that it impresses anyone.  Bluesad

Ah! ER!  I picture her as the female version of the dos equis "most interesting man in the world" only much younger and more attractive.  You know how in the back of your mind you keep that list of people that you would want by your side if ever you were to find yourself as the ruler of the world or some other position of similar power?  No? Well, I have that list, because it's totally possible, and I always think I would ask ER to be one of my most trusted advisers.  True story.

Seriously, I am floored by her writing skills and ability to be so engaging, deep and entertaining, sometimes all at the same time.  I hope she never leaves!

Don't worry, Paquita; she won't. We had her chipped in case she ever decides to cut and run. But don't tell her.

Oops. Well, s**t.

I'll just show myself out.
