Saw this last night on the local opening night. (I have no idea why the movie is debuting in Louisville on a Tuesday evening). The theater was fairly packed, about 90% full, so I predict this is going to do well. Edgar Wright (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD), seldom fails to entertain.

The story is about a getaway driver with tinnitus and Zen-like skills behind the wheel who finds its harder to get out of the crime world than he thought.

This is what I'd call a "Movie" movie. Larger than life personalities, larger than life schemes, larger than life chases.

The cast is very good, mostly new faces or character actors, with Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx being the only real box office draws.

Very entertaining, although it has lots of those action movie cliches that are starting to annoy me more and more the older I get: cars that drive as fast in reverse as they do in forward gears, cops who can't hit , guys who get shot twelve times and just shrug it off and grimace. Plus there's a character who acts in a way I found totally inconsistent with his character. But these slips didn't wreck the movie for me and they're even less likely to bother others.

Recommended: 4.5/5. Try to see it on a big screen.

Odd occurrence just now: I read what you said about the driver and all of a sudden, a banner ad popped up below for Dunlop Tyres, South Africa.  TeddyR TeddyR

I would like to see this: I thought it might have been a remake of the Walter Hill film The DriverWink

I watched this last night and highly enjoyed it. At first glance at the trailers I had no interest, but then I found out it was an Edgar Wright movie, so off to the theater I went.

While the movie is certainly fast-paced (no time for introspection here), I did find myself getting caught up in the story. So much so that I tended to overlook the editing, which is paced right along with the film's soundtrack. I do want to go back and see it, just so I can watch how all the cuts are done in time with the music. Probably not in the theater, though.

I recommend it. Looking forward to seeing more from Edgar Wright outside of the Cornetto trilogy and Scott Pilgrim.

I just saw a couple of trailers and really, I think this looks like so much fun.  Can't wait to see it.

If he is a baby driver, how can his feet reach the pedals?

How about a sequel/remake/reboot/retcon/d-CON (sorry) in which the main character drives babies around for 112 minutes?

How about...never mind. I'll just show myself out now.

One of few films I intend to purchase on Blu-Ray.
Just the fact that the action is synced up with the music makes it amazing.
It was a great experience the whole way through and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Mind you, I can say that about any of Edgar Wright's films.

heard so much about this, and I'm a huge fan of SPACED, SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ so I got the dvd. attempted to watch it tonight but only lasted about 30 mins...had to turn it off.

the main guy instantly annoyed me by acting how a 10 year old would imagine the coolest 20 yr old in the world would act. very grating. everything seemed just too stylised, and self consciously  'cool' for its own good. almost like Edgar Wright was trying to channel the worst traits of Tarantino and Kevin Smith at the same time. couldn't get into it at all

edit - my mistake, the song playing in the diner when he meets the girl is Lets Go Away For A While by Beach Boys, not a High Llamas tune...should've known that!
