This is the original, unaltered scan of a picture I did a few years back.  Been thinking of going into Photoshop and enhancing it a bit (correct some errors, straightening lines, etc.)

Anyway, I know I'm not Picasso, but I think conveyed a somber mood pretty well.  Keep in mind I did this all by hand, hadn't really drawn in years and didn't have access to an eraser (long story).

I like it! Ive been trying to develope something similar the last couple of months for something animated. Im trying to come up with a background like a castle or haunted house. I cant decide though, i like cliffs and stone, bare trees, full moons, winding pathways etc. Youve got all the elements that i like, even your choice of colors, grays and blues! Feel free to post more! Right now im torn between a castle on a cliff or a creepy house made of popsickle sticks for stopmotion.

I especially like the expressionistic quality to the moon and the way the tree to the left leans out over the edge. It's an evocative sketch, and you did well. Somehow it vaguely reminds me of Edvard Munch.

Cool!  Thanks for the compliment!  I have to admit though, I DID get the basics of the drawing from a children's "How to Draw Haunted Houses" type book I'd borrowed from the library.  May have to post my zombies drawing.

BTW, you do animation?  Oh neat!  Do you know much about Flash or Digital animation?  Had an idea for a video series and I was wanted to do a quick animated intro for them, but don't quite have the skill to do it...

When you did get something going, be sure and post a link to it!

That's a pretty spiffy picture.   Cheers

Two quick suggestions, blues and purples often work really well at getting the 'dark" effect down without having to rely so heavily on grays and they help make the picture pop more.

It could really use a few bats.   BounceGiggle

Creator of "The Scream"?  Wow.. I'd be flattered to even be mentioned vaguely in that company.

But, I'm glad you like it.  :)
