Remember BLOOD FREAK (1972)? Remember Brad Grinter? The narrator who hacks and coughs throughout the movie? He directed that classic monstrosity. He directed this one too-but that's where the similarities end. Because while low budget and bad-BLOOD FREAK is fun to watch-this is a crashing bore...until the end-which I will describe to you just because it's the only good part.
Plot-? Oh,there's plenty of plot-long meandering talky nonsense about a revolution in South America, stealing bodies from a hospital-blah blah blah. Veronica Lake (yes-that Veronica Lake) is a scientist working for some shady organization in Florida which, for some insane reason, involves  special-bred flesh eating maggots. So we get to see nice close-ups of the squirmy vermin. And you get to see the scene pictured above, where a nurse sneaks into her lab and finds a rotton corpse hanging from the ceiling.Otherwise-take a No-Doz so you can see the ending.
SPOILERS-the Ending
Turns out all this is done because the leader of this Shady Organization is none other than Adolf Hitler! And seems like Miss Lake's mother was a prisoner of a concentration camp during WW II-and she set up all this rigamarole to exact her revenge on Mr.Mustache. She straps Shicklegruber to a table and stars throwing the nasty flesh eaters all over him like wedding rice while laughing like a maniac, and the movie ends with her giving him a sarcastic "Heil Hitler."
This was Miss Lakes last film. Shortly afterward she committed suicide. Actually-no she didn't,but I'll bet she felt like it.
She died 3 years later at the age of 50.

I heard about this when I was a student in 1987: I asked at our library if they had it and all they did was shudder.  TeddyR

I know I can make it on my own if I try, but I'm searching for the Great Heart

A Great Heart to stand me by.

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
