So, I'm working on my second page of my Battle Beast comic and I wanted to ask your guys opinion on something...

Got a comic where they're at the site of some "ancient ruins" and the gang of course get into a bit of hijinks there.  Thing of it is, I'm debating about the "look" of the ruins.  Now, they're actually just wooden blocks I've taken pictures of an resized, but I'm debating whether or not I should give them a grey, stone look, or just keep them as is.  Personally, I think having them as wooden blocks without a disguise would be funnier, but I don't want that gag to distract from the main gag of the comic.  So, dunno, what do you guys think?

Here's a prototype picture of the opening scene...

I think I'd go for better ruins, to be honest, but I do like what you're doing.

I'd have to go with the wooden blocks as I feel it fits in more with with the figures you are using, but ultimately go with what feels right to you.

The picture is not showing on my computer, so I cant see. I personally like grey stone or any type of ruins. Im imagining it looking a little too "kiddish" with wooden blocks. Maybe the characters wont "pop" as much? one option is to paint the blocks in a stone color. you could use them to build different scenes by rearranging them.
