Things like this make me wonder if we as a society are circling the drain...

There's an eight year old boy, Nemis, whose "alter ego" is a drag queen Lactatia (yes, as in "lactating").  Apparently his mom let him watch RuPaul's Drag Race when he was seven, and says he feels he's "...always been" Lactatia.  His mom helps him put on make-up and pick out clothes.

Look, a kid wanting to play dress up, and idolizing people they like on TV, is one thing but this....

I have no words.

I agree. If the kid wants to dress up, do routines for the family, and stuff like that, then knock yourselves out, folks. The shift from private to public is more of a parental choice.

Make a plan with the kid: "If you are still interested in pursuing this in two or three years, then we will help you move forward with it, but only at your request, son." If he discovers Pokemon and quits wearing dresses, then lifelong issues are averted. If the kid is still a little diva 3 years down the line, you can accept it isn't a phase.

But, yeah, most of the world is circling the toilet bowl, and America is the really beefy chunk near the bottom of the porcelain turd tunnel.

Well, in fairness, this kid and his mom (REALLY doubt there's a dad in the picture) are from Canada.

This bothers me. Not because of someones preference. Because its an 8 year old! It seems that more and more kids are being sexualized or taught that the source is of all lifes problems are based on being in the wrong body.  Ill spare you all a rant but we are not letting kids be kids anymore. When i was 8 the only thing i cared about were cartoons, toys, candy etc.

That 'mother' ought to be dropped from a cliff tied to an anvil.
Why was she letting a 3 year old watch f**king Ru Paul in the first place??? What's wrong with Sesame Street? When I was a kid I watched old Creature Features-so I played Frankenstein-or Matt Dillon-or whatever. My kids played Power Rangers. I didn't send them out in the world dressed up as a dam Power Ranger!!!
It's not the world-the world has ALWAYS been f**ked up-it's morons who watch too much goddam junk on TV-which is fine-except-IT'S ONLY TV!!! IT'S NOT REAL!!!

I never liked drag queens.  That little boy is annoying.  Cut the crap.   Lookingup  Who aspires to be a twat?
The link led to almost nothing but I found "Lactatia" easy enough on YouTube.

If a kid wants to dress up, let them. DON'T make it public for him to be the center of something that can lead to arguing.

Somewhere right now Roseanne is steaming mad that some kid in real life stole her thunder of having an eight-year-old cross-dressing child on her show's revival.

It's child abuse and the mother is unworthy of being a parent. A 7 or 8 y/o is not mentally or emotionally old enough to make this choice. Idiots everywhere.
