I didn't sleep well last night and this was showing: I should have tried to go back to sleep instead of wasting my time on it.

It was made in South Africa  Buggedout

The only reason I saw it other than the fact that I couldn't sleep was that it was made here: what a horrible experience. Bad acting, a director who seems to have just discovered what the camera can do, guys who shoot weapons without reloading, no script, no likeable characters. Only the makeup was good.

It was made in South Africa.  Buggedout

Those CGI bats? Blah. The guy who did Birdemic could have done better.

Blah: did I mention it was made in South Africa? Blah.  Buggedout

I went into the movie with the cast in mind...I mean there was Robert Patrick, Danny Trejo, Bruce Campbell etc.
And yeah...the movie isn't very good, but it was bad enough that I enjoyed it quite much (Bad CGI, Boobies, Gore...all the good stuff).
Also I like it way more than Part 3 (which was too mediocre...not bad enough to be fun and not good enough to be near the level of the first one) and that horrendous Series.

I can easily see why it went direct to video.

It was a long time ago, but as I recall, From Dusk 'Til Dawn 2 was pretty awful.

Where was it made?

It wasn't a good movie, sure, but it did have bobs and Bruce Campbell so I can't hate everything about it.

Does anybody know whether or not it was actually filmed in Texas or not?

I believe I heard somewhere it might've been filmed in South America.

Ah, the late '90s, when anything even slightly Tarantino related would get the go ahead.

Now a normal person might think that a shot-by-shot recreation of the shower scene from Psycho but with a vampire bat instead of a knife sounds less than clever, but that just shows the film is hip and somebody on set went to film school. A normal person might also assume that the film stars Bruce Campbell and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (still on everybody's minds in the '90s), because that's what the film's marketing material says. It doesn't. It stars the T-1000 and one of the rapists from Pulp Fiction.

You know, I remember watching a movie called Angel of the Night (1998) by the oddly-named Shaky Gonzalez, and thinking that it was what the From Dusk Till Dawn sequel should have been. It was certainly better than the actual sequel.

Anyway, watch From Dusk Till Dawn 2 if you must. It was filmed in South Dakota, home of Mt. Rushmore.

Bruce Campbell and Tiffani Amber-Thiessen are in a false start to the movie. It's a very short scene and it turns out to be from a movie on of the main characters is watching. Never referred to again.

I saw this once when it first hit video back in the day but recall nothing about it aside from a vague feeling that I didnt' like it at all.

Oh, and by the way, I hear it was made in South... somewhere :D
