The sleep of reasoner breeds monsters. (sic)

« on: September 25, 2017, 10:06:33 AM »

Anybody catch it last night? What'd you think? I missed the first ten minutes and then missed the last twenty comforting a six-year-old with a nightmare (about shadows with claws that moved!) but I do plan on seeing if I can catch it online or On Demand. I am not sure yet how I feel about it but I do know I have loved every Star Trek series and that in every case they had to grow on me and at first I did not enjoy them.

As The Wanderer says in Fallout 4, "Your thoughts?"

Watched it. For an hour long show not much seemed to happen. I suppose they're setting up a long-running story which will last all season. I'd ratcher see a complete story every episode.

On a side note, is the next episode coming to TV, or do I have to download CBS' new streaming app?

I believe that was a sample and you will need the streaming service. (Bad idea.)

I enjoyed it - good character development and interactions, Klingons at their villainous best.  Hate that it is going to be pay-per-view, though.

Cthulhu for president! Why choose the lesser evil?

It has kept me interested so far.

Now I haven't seen every iteration of the Star Trek franchise, but to me it is a very atypical show. Star Trek as I understand it, is an ensemble piece: the crew of a ship (or space station) boldly going in the unknown, with a group of characters centered around the captain. Discovery is very much the story of just one character (who should have been a captain), on a foreign ship, pitted against the captain and the rest of crew.

I don't know yet whether this is a good thing or not. Still, it is intriguing enough to keep me watching.

That one theory has been confirmed.

The one about Voq and Ash Tyler.
