So, I went and printed out ten full color fliers for my Photo Restoration service.  Got some things I need to take care of then I can start passing them out/posting them in various places.  Debating about certain other business tactics like, posting an ad in the paper (online and print), making some business cards, etc.

Lots of stuff I still haven't decided yet, like what I'll charge, and how I'll even collect payment (I mean, I'm hooked up with a Paypal account what if some client don't have that?)  Been looking at other related online photo restoration services to see what they charge and offer and a lot of them aren't cheap.  Some do flat rates while other it's a sliding scale depending on how extensive  the amount of work will be to fix the picture.

Feeling a bit nervous about this and I'm not sure why.  Guess it's the whole "Starting a big, new project" jitters.  I suppose part of it is my inferiority creeping in.  I look at what other professional services are doing and I think, "Wow, can I really measure up to THAT?" and then I start get a little discouraged...

But still, I'm moving forward!

Here's the flyer I made!

I'm sure you'll do a fine job, I think the only problem is finding your market. I suspect you should probably focus your efforts online to reach more potential clients. It's a very niche service you're offering, so local flyer advertising doesn't seem like good investment of resources to me (unless you live in NYC where thousands of people per day would walk past it). But I could be wrong, and if you get even one job from it would justify the attempt. Good luck!

Your work is good and whenever I can I'll put the word out for you.

Maybe find out who is organizing high school reunions and see if they have any pictures that need touching up for their slideshows. Same with family reunions and anniversaries. Good luck again, you're talented at what you do.

Well, you're probably right.  I am a bit limited in that area though, there's a few obvious sites that I can't post on for various reasons but I've got some friends and relatives you can spread the word for me.  Been thinking of getting my own website up and running as well to advertise it, but I dunno off-hand if any sites still offer free web space or not.  (Yeah, I know, I know, I should REALLY have researched that already by now, but I've always had a "cart before the horse" problem with prepping my ideas.)

Good news, they put up on my fliers at the Burger King here in town.  Lots of foot traffic there!  But yeah, we're taking it a step at a time! :)

There are still a few free hosting sites. Anglefire and Tripod still exist, but they have lots of ads. I might suggest Neocities.org; I have an account there.
