Okay. So let me start by saying if anyone can tell me the name of this film not only will I owe you a beer (Or tipple of your choice) but also my eternal thanks for finally helping me put to bed a mystery scene that has been stuck in my brain since I was 6 years old.

I have no idea what decade this film came from, nor do I know what channel it was broadcast on (My gut for some reason tells me one of the BBC channels in the UK) it was in colour and couldnt be any earlier than the early 70's but couldnt be any later than the early 2000's  (Helpful I know; right?) If I had to put a stab at it from my memory I'd say it was a film from some point in the mid 80's to the mid 90's (Though please dont take that as the gospal as It was a very long time ago)

Basically all I can remember is a man and a woman in what looks like a hospital delivery room, Im assuming its her husband; reassures her that today may well be the day, they then cut to a dark narrow dingy allyway where a man with a briefcase who may or may not have been wearing a long cream mac is walking through the shadowy ally/corridors slowly. it then cuts back to the hospital where they continue talking about something that honestly escapes me at this point. The man with the briefcase then stops in a dark corridor, put his briefcase on the ground and begins to undo his coat. it then cuts back to the man and woman talking in the hospital when all of a sudden the woman abruptly stops talking and looks pained, I think it's implied (Bearing in mind I was 6 at the time) that she was going into Labour and the husband starts to reassure her and sort of cheer about how it's finally happening. the scene then cuts back to the digy corridor where the man in the coat appears to be using some kind of glory hole.

The whole scene then comes together as it's revealed that the woman in the delivery room isnt in fact in a delivery room and that it is in fact some kind of anonymous sperm donation clinic and that the man in the coat is having sex with her through a hole in the wall. anyway this scene is fairly brief and ends with the woman collapsing back into the bed as the man in the coat on the other side of the wall buttons himself back up, picks up his briefcase and walks into the shadows.

It isnt much to go on but im about 95% sure that a 6 year old couldnt come up with this kind of stuff...so any help would be tremendously appreciated...

Wow.

What country? As in what country was the film made in and in what country did you see this? If it wasn't a straight-up porn, it was most likely British as it sounds like some of the New Wave SF that was coming from writers like Michael Moorcock, what with sexual liberation just around the corner.

Yeah, sorry, went off on a bit of a trip there.

No clue on the movie.

I recall them having american accents...though at the same time I do know that  lot of european films that were imported from places like Italy, Germany and France tended to have US overdubs...so if I had to take a stab I'd say it was either American or european (Italy, germany, france) dubbed into US english. I saw it in England and while I cant put an exact year that I saw it down,  I would say it must have been at some point between 1997 and 2001 as any earlier and I'd have been way to young to remember and I have much clearer memories after 2001 I cant 100% rule out that it didnt have some level of eroticism in it...but from a mixture of memory and gut instinct im inclined to think it was some kind of drama/thriller type film...though again it was so long ago I really couldnt honestly say for sure

Cheers for your suggestion though :) I'll  have a look at some british writers and see if anything sounds about right
