In 1978, Battlestar Galactica premiered with a similar look and feel to Star Wars. There was good reason for the parallels. McQuarrie and model builders John Dykstra, Grant McCune and Richard Edlund worked on both epic projects...On June 28, Cannavo (who bought the models years ago) is putting up his Battlestar Galactica ships — as well as models from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century — for auction.

Darn it all, too late to this thread.  And I had $300k lying around that was earmarked for an iconic science fiction item, too.   TeddyR

That would have been amazing to see.  I loved that series back when it aired.
