Hanniger! I'll be waiting in HELL for you!

« on: December 06, 2017, 03:02:36 AM »

Hey gang;
I may have done this type of thread a long, long time ago.. but so what!  Who doesn't love Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies?  Post away with your memories, pics, videos or various quotes you can remember.

Here's some I recall..

There was an episode where Bugs is shuttled off into space and lands on the moon.  He tries to radio for help.  He gets a goofy commercial that plays:
"Munchie Crunchies are the best, look delicious on your vest.  Serve them to unwanted guests, stuff the mattress with the rest."

This featured Marvin the Martian before his signature congested vocal delivery.  He was looking forward to getting his "Q-36 Space Modulator".

Post away with your memories of Bugs, Daffy, Tweety, Sylvester, Taz, Elmer, Foghorn, Wiley, the Road Runner, Porky, Pepe, Yosemite Sam, and all major or even minor characters from the greatest cartoon series in history!

^Yeah, I liked the diminutive Nazi crow that would always get b***hed at by his superior; "SCHUUUUUUUUULTZ!!!"

One of the more classic ones was Bugs meeting the furry monster Gossamer, and acting as a nail salon worker.  "Monsters lead such innnnteresting lives."  He proceeds to have Gossamer soak his nails, but there are mousetraps in the water.

Anything with Daffy Duck.

Also, I grew up watching reruns of Looney Tunes/Melodies on ABC and TNT in the 90s and I was about 12 when Space Jam came out.  I'll love that movie forever, if only nostalgically speaking.  Not 'classic' looney tunes, but to me it is.

Songs I used to remember from the show:

What's up Doc?  What's cookin'
What's up Doc?  Oh you're lookin'
For Bugs Bunny buntin'
Elmer's gone a-huntin'
Just to get a rabbit skin
Oops!  The rabbit's gone again
What's up Doc?  What's cookin'
Hey, look out, stop!
You're gonna hurt someone
With that old shotgun
Eh.. what's up Doc!

also:

Oh, we're the boys of the chorus; we hope you like our show
We know you're rooting for us, but now we have to goooooo...

And Bugs was singing one while tapdancing during a flashback to when he was younger:

She's the daughter of Rosie O' Grady, a regular old-fashioned goil..
She isn't crazy for diamond rings
Silkens and satins and fancy things
She's just a sweet little lady, and when you meet her you'll see..
Why I'm glad I called her the daughter of Rosie O' Graaaady..

And of course, The Rabbit of Seville:

How do??
Welcome to my shop, let me cut your mop, let me shave your crop
Daintily, daintily
Hey you!!
Don't look so perplexed, why must you be vexed, can't you see you're next
Yes you're next, you're so next
How about a nice close shave
Teach your whiskers to behave
Lots of lather lots of soap
Please hold still don't be a dope
Now we're ready for the scraping
There's no use to try escaping
Yell & scream & rant & rave
It's no use you need a shave

There, you're nice and clean
Although you're face looks like it might have gone through a machine
Oh, wait until I get that rabbit
What would you want with a rabbit
Can't you see that I'm much sweeter
I'm your little senorita
You're my type of guy
Let me straighten your tie
And I shall dance for you

Who'da thunk it!

And the main theme to the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show-- I do this for karaoke sometimes!

Overture, curtain, lights
This is it, the night of nights
No more rehearsing, or nursing a part
We know every part by heart
Overture, curtain, lights
This is it, we'll hit the heights
And oh what heights we'll hit..
On with the show, this is it
(interlude with characters marching by)
Tonight, what heights we'll hit..
On with the show, this is iiiit!

(and the Road Runner song)

If you're on the highway and Road Runner goes 'beep beep'
Just step aside, or you might end up in a heap
Road Runner, Road Runner, runs on the road all day
Even the Coyote can't make him change his ways
Road Runner, the Coyote's after you
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through
Road Runner, the Coyote's after you
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through
That Coyote's really a crazy clown
When will he learn that he never can mow him down
Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone
Just running down the road's his idea of having fuuuun!

Not too long ago, DC comics did a series of crossovers with the Looney Tunes.  Each comic had two stories one in "DC" style and one in "looney tunes" style.

They were a lot of fun.  I especially liked the Batman vs Elmer Fudd comics.
