OoopsCarrie DeMoff, the owner of Broad Street Gyros in Griffith, is accused of attempting to deal cocaine out of her restaurant after an incident in November in which a customer found cocaine in her cheese sticks order.
Police say the video appears to show DeMoff putting what was later found be cocaine into a take-out container. That container was then given to the wrong customer by mistake.
That customer who picked up the order told police that she got a call from a woman at the restaurant asking if she had received an order of cheese sticks by mistake, and if she could bring them back. When the customer refused, she said the woman from the restaurant asked for her address and said she would come to retrieve the cheese sticks.
The customer said that she became suspicious of why the restaurant was so concerned about a single order of cheese sticks, and after inspecting the order, found a white Styrofoam cup containing a white powdery substance inside a clear plastic baggie. She then called police.
