Good read. Is there any point in submitting stories to magazines these days?
Yes, absolutely, Pac, go for it. Print still exists in small press niches, and e-zines have readers. It's a good way to build a resume, even in this decade.
Writer's Market is still a good resource, but finding markets online for short stories is simple.
If you want to be read and aren't looking to get paid or build a reputation, posting your work online in writers' communities can get you feedback.
We missed the era when someone who could craft a good story could actually make a living at it. Unless you're Joyce Carol Oates, everything these days is novels, and breaking in is like winning the lottery.
Good luck!
