I was watching an ep of KTNS and man I had forgotten how great it was.  No wonder it only lasted one season in America in the 70's.

Asides from being a great show it was also like opening a time capsule.  I mean Darren Mcgavin looked up numbers in a phone book.  No internet,  no  mobile phones,  pay phones,  people smoking, it was really a time capsule...

I have the entire series on DVD. Fun show . . . and some of the make-up is really good for laughs. For example, the werewolf episode.

my brother took pictures of the tv screen so we could recreate the makeup techniques for the werewolf and the vampire, in particular. i may still have them, he'd get a kick out of seeing them, lol!

I thought the zombi makeup was pretty good.

Have the series. Watched half of it. Great fun, but a bit repetitive. I can see why the series didn't last.  Bluesad

Found the movie. Surprised Kolchak wasn't a conspiracy theorist in it; his girl friend convinces him the killer could be a vampire. Even then he thinks it's a man with some sort of vampire complex instead of a real ghoul.
