the Classic Horror Film Board is still going strong, and Universal Army is still active-but we seem to be right up there. I'm a member of all 3-and even though the site is dead- this forum is still dam strong!  Thumbup
I was a member of many film discussion boards- most took a s**t. Up In the Balcony is dead-I belonged to that-and Stomp Tokyo is dead mostly. Belonged to that too.

I just visited the B movie message board of Stomp Tokyo-

Dam. It reminds me of Hiroshima victims walking among the ruins.

I think this forum can-and will-like the Classic Horror Film Board- not need a Mother Site. It stands on it's own.

I don't know about other horror forums.  this si the closest thing to a horror forum I'm a member of, but I do now forums just don't seem to be as big as they used to be.

I've never tried other movie forums either. I randomly found this one day while bored at work and I've been stuck here since. I don't think I have enough time to really contribute to a second forum lol.

Universal Monster Army, if that's what you mean, I belong to too...  It's not really a film forum, it's a monster toy collector forum.  And  D . E . D .

There's horrordigital.com still going strong where I signed up in 2001. I "retired" there in 2015 after they changed the layout and included a "thumbs up" feature (sort of like "karma" here) which I'm not a fan of. Since there was no option to disable (unlike here) said feature I called it the quits. I still lurk there once or twice a week.
horrordigital is 75% about collecting horror movies from (mostly) boutique labels on blu-ray, and 25% about recent theatrical releases, streaming horror, classic horror, slasher, foreign etc.

One problem: it's hard to find smaller sites today; search for a movie on Google & you'll get Wikipedia, IMDB, & a few other major sites. In the past you'd get The Bad Movie Report, Jubuntoo's, etc.

If no one can find the sites, no one can join their forums.

If no one can join the forums, the forums are dying.

This site's generic name has it's advantages...

Reddit. Reddit has killed off independent forums. The advantage of independents, though, is that the posters get to know one another---reddit has more information but is just too big and impersonal.

I'm not a fan of reddit.  I don't like how it's set up and it's just too impersonal.  You never get the feeling that you know any of the people there.
