Good or bad tell us about a movie you're surprised was never made.

Frankly I'm amazed there haven't been a bunch of "blob" movies made.  There was the original, a parody sequel so bad Larry hagmsn deserved to be shot for making it (what kind of sick b@st@rd has a kitten being eaten by the blob and thinks people will not be turned off by it?!?!)  Then the 1988 remake.

There's been talk about a new remake with Samuel l. Jackson for years. Talk talk talk.

Frankly I'm surprised there wasn't a few more blob movies made.

There hasn't been a good biopic about Andrew Jackson done in fifty years.
Such a total BA would be good movie fodder!

Yeah, I think I can see why that hasn't been made.  The studio where it was being filmed would be burned to the ground under a hail of fire arrows and the director would be found scalped with a tomahawk buried in his skull.

Yet, if Jackson had not forcibly relocated the Cherokee, they likely would have been massacred to the last brave instead of being the largest, best organized, and most influential tribe in America as they are today!

History is rarely as black and white as the far left or far right would have us believe.
Jackson was a complex man and a surprisingly deep one at times.

South African history in the 20th century: told from both sides and points of view, not just from one side or the other.

* DOC SAVAGE - The movie from the 1970s starring Ron Ely is terrible. There have been many rumored remakes, but nothing has materialized. At one point or another, there was chatter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vin Diesel, Chris Hemsworth, and (most recently) Dwayne Johnson starring in a remake. Apparently Shane Black wrote a script that is in development, but this may never get off the ground.

* INCIDENT AT TWENTY-MILE - The novel by Trevanian is absolutely riveting. It's a western about a psychopath who escapes from jail and holds a small mining town hostage. It would make a great movie.

* PREY - The novel by Michael Crichton is great. Needs to be adapted for the big screen.

The doc savage movie was made in the spirit of the batman series and was about as enoyable.

Given the unending flood of comic movies I'm amazed we never had a Spectre movie. You know, pure torture porn done in the name of holy righteousness which is what the spectre basically was.

After the original Jurassic Park made millions and millions of dollars, I'm surprised they haven't been more big budget dinosaur movies.  Sure, there's plenty of lower budget straight to video films, but no other major studio seemed eager to throw some major cash behind a project.  We could have competing dinosaur franchises right now.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a lot of movies based around the second Punic Wars, the wars between Rome and Carthage.  Its famous for Hannibal's crossing of the alps with elephants, but there is so much more to the story.

! No longer available Small | Large

As the host of the video says, its basically the real world's epic fantasy.

I always wondered why Hammer never did a werewolf movie beyond CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF. They did Vampire, Frankenstein, and Mummy movies- but no werewolf movies.

Agreed: they made Creatures The World Forgot in South Africa and they should have made more here: stunning locations, good cast and crews, etc.

I think the reason for that is the same reason we don't see any modern films made of the SHADOW ( yeah, the flop with Alec Baldwin), GREEN HORNET ( yeah-I know, that tanked too) or Charlie Chan films. They were products of the pulp era of the 30's and 40's. The audiance for them is just not there.  Who now remembers Bulldog Drummond, or Dr. Mabuse? When's the last time they made a Fu Manchu film,. Or a comedy about Dagwood Bumstead or Ma and Pa Kettle? They're out-dated. No teenager cares about that ancient stuff. They went the way of Little Dot comics and playing jacks.

I think perhaps because of the unsteady political atmosphere at the time? Or perhaps it was simply because it's easier to film on a sound stage or in a local that's closer to home.

Hammer also did another couple other dino movies...can't recall the names now...
I don't think Hammer made many dino movies because of the same reason Harryhausen stopped working. Stop-motion animation was costly and time consuming.  By the 70's they were becoming passe- Lee's Dracula abandoned the gothic settings and moved into modern era with the last 2 crappy Dracula films. Plus- how can Frankenstein and Dracula compete with the EXORCIST, the realism of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and the big budget JAWS type of films? The old monsters gave way to human monsters, and big budget sci-fi.

Hammer kinda failed to get into the budding SF genre except for the actually pretty good except for the western stuff "Moon Zero two". It did some SF horror like " Island terror" and the very similar "burning island of the damned".

If  they had gotten it together they might have spat out a couple more Dr. Phibes movies.
