Not sure if this is inspired or insane...

We love you, Florida. Not only do you have some gorgeous sandy beaches, but you also provide us with several unique stories that we can bring up with strangers when we have nothing else to say.

Today's story? Well, it involves gators, as Florida stories often do.

On Monday, Florida newscaster Heather Crawford posted a Facebook photo of a whole alligator that was covered with bacon and rubbed down with bourbon whiskey and seasoning, then smoked for five hours.

But just don't take our word for it. See it for yourself here:

The gator, according to Heather's post, is the creation of Justin Wilbur, who works at Clark's Fish Camp Seafood Restaurant in Jacksonville.

It also only cost $125, according to Heather, and can feed 8-12 people, which kind of seems like a deal.

We have plenty of questions. There's, "Why?" of course, and "how does it taste?" and "how much bacon did you use?" and again, "Why?"

Love you always, Florida.

I have had alligator; it's not too bad!  I'd try a plate full of this.

I've never had gator before, and have wanted to try it.  This sounds like it could be good.
