Any of you  have any news on the blob remake they were supposed to do with Samuel  L. Jackson a couple years ago? Is it still on?

I heard he threatened to strike down the producers with great vengeance and furious anger and that was the end of the production.  Wink

I didn't even know Jackson was doing  a Blob remake.

Last I heard, Rob Zombie wanted to do a Blob remake.  I remember him saying "My intention is not to have a big red blobby thing -- that's the first thing I want to change... That gigantic Jello-looking thing might have been scary to audiences in the 1950s, but people would laugh now."

Dumb idea.
'80s remake was all the remaking it ever needed.

Did he really?
What's he gonna do, have it wear clown paint and a KISS t-shirt?
Really scary, Rob.

Apparently, it's still on, but appears to be in what is known as "developmental hell," so I don't know whether it'll ever be made or not. As for Rob Zombie, no word on a remake of him of The Blob, as his latest film seems to be 3 From Hell, which is in post-development.
