I agree about the GREEN SLIME.
I thought STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE was a bore fest. And I love STAR TREK- the 60's show.
the GREEN SLIME was better than the first Star Trek movie. It tried to be 2001: Part 2 and failed big time.
Shatner didn't scream or overact-where's the fun in that?

 It tries to deal with the concept of God- and is just....dull. Brain dead slow. Not a good movie. Bad movie. Not in a BAD movie way. I would rather watch JOURNEY TO THE 7TH PLANET.

STTMP tried to bring a grand epic scale to SF we hadn't seen since movies like forbidden planet and 2001. Remember the huge krell machine?

The V'Ger was meant to create a sense of huge, awesome scale.

The production was riddled with problems, like the original v'ger model being accidentally destroyed, that hurt the finished product. But still at least it wasn't one shootout and explosion after another.

"Humanoids of the Deep" is a vulgar insult to bad monster movies, and I don't get why people like it.

"The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" is actually a pretty funny parody of old bad movies. The dialog, the acting, and the puppets are supposed to be bad, which is the joke that I think a lot of people seem to miss.

"Sharknado" was a fairly amusing concept, but got stale after about the third movie.

ST:T(S)MP came out not long after 2001 and the ending was very much inspired by it. They just failed to match it.

THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) is as good as Hollywood got. 

GERMANIA ANNO ZERO (1948) may be the most important film ever made. 

LA DOLCE VITA (1960) might be the greatest film ever made. 

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (1974) is as good as nostalgia can possibly get. 

The two greatest American Musical films were made in the 1970s: CABARET (1972) and ALL THAT JAZZ (1979). 

The greatest bad movie ever made is CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962). 

The most influential bad movie ever made is LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (1972). 

Of all the Horror films, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) is by far the best.

if you like nostalgic films try to find "Zone troopers", a lovingly make tribute to the scifi of the 30's and 40's, when it was mostly pulp magazines and known now to true fhans as "The Gernsback era". It has bug eyes aliens, rockets with bell nozzles and rakish fins, ray guns and lots of dead nazis.

Nope.  I'd like to see ZONE TROOPERS, though.
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is an exercise in nostalgia by mocking all of those FRANKENSTEIN movies it's nostalgic for.  Perfection.

Are we talking HORROR or another topic?  I definitely would choose either KING KONG or BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN as more watchable... even ENDLESSLY WATCHABLE. 

But... HORROR.  Those movies don't intimidate me.  TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE intimidates me.  It's still scary.  I've seen the cruel, the gross, the revolting, the disturbing, the painful, but TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is the only film that was relentless.  It's like a trap that doesn't kill the mouse, only makes it suffer.      
If a HORROR fan has not seen TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, that fan does not yet know how great HORROR can be.
