Both would be tempting, but the consequences of changing history that radically could be unforeseen disaster!
Ever read Stephen King's 11/22/63?

Hell! Hell on earth!
I was goth before there was goth.
I kept to myself. I loved old horror movies. I didn't talk to anybody. And I hated the f**king world. This was in 1973.
I was 11 years old! I was reading Lovecraft! And drawing monsters!

I'm not quite sure either why people look back on school through a rosy haze. I can't say I absolutely hated it, there were good moments, but by its nature the whole experience was one of being sent somewhere I didn't want to be, being kept from doing things I'd rather have been doing, being told what to do there and through homework what to do in what should have been my free time later, I was in a group that went through most of the day in an environment that was like a school within a school, that gets you resented fast, jammed in a program that twisted down crushing stress to the point I don't see how none of us went on a shooting spree, I had this group of girls called the B itch Posse constantly on my case, and the last three years were this great big crucible that as far as I can tell was about nothing but getting us into the most glorious of universities, so the school could brag about it and ensnare more students. No wonder I wigged out so often my senior year!

I was glad to leave.

Yeah- I didn't really like school either. I liked the fact that I could see my friends who lived next to me on the bus and in school-but yeah-I hated f**king school.
