I dunno- they still haven't made a CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON movie since 1956, so...
You would think another ET movie would be here by now.
Or CLOSE ENCOUNTERS of the FOURTH KIND.

It's been in development a few times since then.  I think the most recent time it got put on the backburner so they could push their "Dark Universe" instead and we all know how that went.

That 'Dark Universe' thing was an attempt to create a Marvel or DC Universe thing. Hammer is trying a comeback...not so good either. I seen a couple. No vampires or Dr. Frankenstein's. It's not even Hammer. It's just the Hammer name.
That 's sad. I hope they let it die.

What's that old saying-?

Will Dr. Mabuse ever come back?

I think the film's from the 20's and 30's were fantastic.
I liked the 1960's German ones too.
I like the concept of a global criminal mastermind....who's the star of the movie.

When Spielberg tried to revamp Looney Tunes- It Sucked.

Heh heh.  I'd be up for a CftBL remake but i'd modernize it with some religious fanatics trying to destroy the creature because it provided irrefutable evidence of evolution and debunked creationism.

That wouldn't work. Maybe in 1973- but not now. Major film studios are not going to polorize an audiance with a monster movie. If it has monsters or superheros you can bet lotsa things will blow up.

We are asking questions here.
We have to answer YOUR questions?
So- we can't ask our own questions?
I dunno wtf your asking here?
I like BAD MOVIES for it's free form- not because it's structured.
Sometimes you act like the thing you profess to dislike.
And that's CONTROL.

For some reason, I keep expecting a pale, weak remake of Fritz Lang's M (1931), starring a bunch of washed up New England celebrities who have somehow maintained their Yankee accents, and would have lots of annoyingly unsubtle anti-police, pro-communist undertones to it...

I'd be keen on a Metropolis remake.

Wasn't Robert Rodriguez developing a Barbarella remake at some point? I think there is some scope for this, but I have a feeling that in the current political climate, there are significant aspects that would need to change in order to keep in line with modern expectations which may hurt it's potential.

You. Know with good cgi a good. Movie can be made low budget and aimed at a smaller audience and still. Make money.  Someone could make a movie targeted at one demographic and rely on outrage from. An opposing demographic to get the target demo to see it.
