I have given up on a few Troma movies after just a couple of minutes. The over-the-top brattish and 'jokey' tone of them grates on me.

Under the right circumstances, I think I would watch any movie no matter how bad it is. But I generally try to avoid Adam Sandler movies (except for a few), most of the POLICE ACADEMY movies, and anything with MADEA in the title . . .

Anything pornographic, especially torture porn as a few users mentioned above me. I'm probably completely alone on this one, but I also don't enjoy watching anything that features any kind of rape; I personally watch films to try and escape from reality (that may be why I like ridiculous monster movies lol), and that particular subject is a little too gnarly for me to want it in what's supposed to be my entertainment.

And movies where humans are molested by monsters/aliens/animals are also a no-go for me. It's just stupid and vulgar, and I never understood all the basement-dwelling fetishists who get off to that sort of thing. It just makes me angry, personally. Examples of this "genre" are Humanoids from the Deep, Thankskilling, Galaxy of Terror, and many others; probably more than I care to remember. They're just poor excuses for B monster movies and it's a totally unnecessary concept, in my opinion.

Most of the so-called "extreme" stuff like Human Centipede, Serbian Film, etc. that I would avoid, have already been mentioned. Never bothered with the Hostel films and I only saw the first film in the Saw franchise. I didn't see what all the whoop-de-doo was about that one so I never bothered with any of the (six? seven?) sequels.

I also avoid those pointless, shot-on-video-for-fifty bucks gore fests with titles like Slaughtered Vomit Dolls. I understand that there's an audience for films like that, who treat them as an endurance test (i.e. to see how much "sickness" they can "handle") but that's not for me. I watch films to be entertained, not sickened and scarred for life.

That said, I've seen a couple of the infamous Faces of Death volumes years ago, and I watched Cannibal Holocaust about a year ago and in both cases I remember thinking, "Soooo... that's it, huh? What's the big deal?" so maybe I'm just totally full of sh**, haha.
