Know any particularly gruesome or ghastly entertainment trivia? Well, enlighten those around you with it!

In Roger Corman's "Masque of the red death" Hoptoad, a midget, gets revenge on a sadistic ""nobleman"" (Yes, double quotes for that term here...) who had tormented his ladylove by getting him into a costume, tying him up and setting the costume on fire about pouring brandy on it.

This was not in the Poe story, but inspired by a real event in the dark ages.

"Hop-Toad and Esmeralda were drawn from Poe's short story "Hop-Frog". That story was inspired by an actual incident in 1393, where French King Charles VI and 5 of his lords dressed and chained themselves as "wild men" at a masquerade, and their costumes caught fire from a stray spark. 4 of the lords died, and the incident became known as the Bal de Ardents (Ball of the Burning Men). When The Brady Bunch was filming at King's Island amusement park, they concluded the episode by riding one of the Racer roller coasters. What is less well-known is seconds before the ride took off, it was spotted that no one had finished bolting down the rear-facing camera mounted on the empty car just in front of the two young Brady actors who were riding just behind that. (I think it was Eve Plumb/Jan, and Mike Lookinland/Bobby.) It's been said that had the coaster taken off the heavy camera would probably been shaken loose at the Racer's 60 MPH speeds, flying straight into the car behind it with deadly, perhaps decapitating, force.
