80's? intro kinda like Monsters

ok so me and my brother were playing an 80's & 90's trivia card game, he was trying to give me a hint to a show by describing the intro and my mind just flashed a very nostalgic intro in my face and I don't remember what it's from (the show I was supposed to guess was "V" but that's not what I saw.)

I know I used to watch this either right before or right after Monsters and it's bugging me to death :(

What I remember is a guy comes home after a long day and walks into the bedroom/bathroom, He stands in front of the mirror "picking" under his collar (I believe he had on a blue shirt with a white collar) then he slowly "peels off" his face and sets it aside revealing that he's a lizard man

If I remember right he then goes into the living room with his wife and two kids (teen son and little girl) who are already out of disguise and he sits in a recliner, it zooms into the tv and you hear a deep man laugh like "HAH HAH HAH HAH....HAAAAH~"

This sounds like V to me, but there is also a scene kind of like this in STRANGE INVADERS where an alien guy comes home and picks the skin off his face before realizing that someone is in the room watching him.  That's how I remember it, anyway.
