I did persist with the series as far as Tale of the Body Thief. Maybe further? Lestat had met the devil, maybe god as well before I completely gave up on them.

If IWTV proves something to me, is that deppresive vampires make poor entertainment. The only good things about the film for me are Tom Cruise's scenario chewing (that was very unexpected) and Neil Jordan occasionally hitting the correct sinister tones. Otherwise, I thiong the film is pretty boring.

The books by Anne Rice are a decent read, at least the first bunch. By the end of the series there are way too many of them to keep track, and the goth and sensual overtones become tiresome. I'd say "Tale of the bodythief" is the last one worth reading.

TBH "Blood and gold", the story of marius, was pretty good.
