Cool! What's the word on Peruvian beer?
The beer was good. I was able to stop at a couple breweries in Peru.
First one was in Lima's Barranco neighborhood - Barranco Brewing Company. (
https://www.facebook.com/BarrancoBeerCompany) - I had gotten in to town early and the area was one recommended to visit by our tour director. I went down there and happened to find the brewery. I had a flight there and all of them were pretty good.
Next brewery I came across was Mapacho Craft Beer in Aguas Calientes, which is right before Machu Picchu. (
https://www.mapachocraftbeer.com) - had some beer there. I was in town in the morning so I went in to have beer as soon they opened up for the day. Figured I probably wouldn't have another chance any time in the near future. Their Kölsch was pretty good. I also had a bit of hefeweizen and an IPA. Didn't care as much for the hefeweizen though.
Otherwise most places had Cusqueña Dorada which is a lager beer. I think that's their mass produced beer. It was good.
I brought some liquid souvenirs home from Peru, namely bottles of pisco and Peruvian wine. Looking forward to having both sometime soon.
