I really have a true love for blaxploitation movies.
Some of the best movies of the 70's, IMHO.

My favorite is COFFY (1973) with Pam Grier.
She puts razor blades in her hair before she starts a fight with some sorry piece of s**t who gets blood all over the place!
She blows a pimps head off in a scene much like that in Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978)! It shows his head explode!
And that's only piece of part of it !
Great movie, with the always beautiful Pam Grier, who is my favorite actress of all time. ALL TIME.

Richard Pryor was in a few of these in the early part of his career, and he wasn't half bad.

Way he grew up, I'm told, & always looked way more natural than some of the 'stars' of these films!
Good thing he was dedicated to comedy, or else he could've been typecast.

Pam is very underrated in Tarintino's JACKIE BROWN, which I think is one of his best films.

Being this IS Bad Movies-! I have to mention-

WELCOME HOME BROTHER CHARLES (1973)
One of the most insane movies I have ever seen. I own it on some obscure VHS company.

There was a SA 'blaxploitation' film called Joe Bullet made many years ago: very controversial in its' day.

I like parts of SWEET SWEETBACK'S BADASSSS SONG a lot, but it gets old.

For pure cheesy fun, I think TNT JACKSON might be my fave. Sure, Jeannie Bell is just a fake Pam Grier, but that topless kung fu fight is amazing!

Also liked BLACK SHAMPOO...

I've only recently begun exploring the blaxploitation genre in the past couple of years.

Pam Grier is the Queen, of course, but it's tough to decide between Foxy Brown or Coffy as my favorite Pam flick.

Someone mentioned TNT Jackson a few posts back, I just saw that one a couple of weeks ago, great fun.

I think my all time favorite, though, has gotta be Truck Turner with Isaac Hayes. Great cast, great action sequences, and a funk-tastic soundtrack. Plus, the pimp funeral scene in that movie is pretty much one of the best things ever.

TRUCK TURNER is a classic. The hospital massacre is pretty fantastic too!

SWEET SWEETBACK...ahhh...it's way too serious.

.SCREAM, BLACULA, SCREAM (1973) has Pam Grier and William Marshall! Blacula vs. Voodoo!

And William Marshall, who's deep Shakespearean voice demands attention, is a scary vampire!
