I can barely watch this movie. Apart from the fact that I love rabbits, it's such a tragic story. Seeing it as a kid kind of burned my mind for a while.

As has been mentioned before, The Plague Dogs (1982) is a desperately sad film that I can't bear to watch.

On a slightly happier but no less bizarre and pathos-laden note, The Mouse And His Child (1977) is one that I can just watch.

This film ran into some censorship trouble here back then: can't understand why.

Loved this as a kid, although it did cause me some trauma.

Agreed: the scene where the rabbits are trapped in their warren tunnels still freaks me.

Even the poster is creepy: I thought it was a kid's cartoon but my folks knew better.

Now that I think about it, British comedy show The Goodies did a satire of this movie and book back in the day. As an adult, it is amazing to look back at that show and see how political and satirical they were. Copyright holders have knobbled all the episodes of The Goodies on YouTube, or I'd show the episode here.
