There's a neat channel on youtube called "oversimplified " that gives quick and dirty history lessons on some major and not so major events.
Using very basic animation, irreverent humor and a bit of a flippant attitude, it provides a capsule description of various things like the French revolution, the american revolution, WW1 and it's sequel, etc.
The lack of detail and casual attitude towards some important stuff might make a real historians head explode in a purple mushroom cloud, so if you are a real history buff you might want to avoid it, or you might respect the way it boils things down to the bare essentials.
