The drift. 2014

Hard to review this. I want to be nice but as a reviewer I must be fair.

The bad: the movie was made for ~ 5000 USD and looks like it. The CGI is worse than some live games I've played.

The plot is a mish mash of Aliens (the messhall scene comes right from it) and a generic  Dr.  Who EP, without the doctor.

The actors all have the standard ssue cockney accents.

So much of it is just alien and Aliens. There's some rea WTF moments involving magic crystals that are somewhat  original and totally botched into the movie.

All in all it's not a movie so much as it's a demo reel showing that the company can make a that looks like alien and aliens on a 5K$ budget.

The good.

This movie was made for 5K USD.  For that it's  pretty damn good. A lot of work and brains went into it. It shows a lot of drive and talent. I honestly would like to see the producers given a small budget of say a few hundred thousand provided they agreed to make something more original.

I hate to ding this as it shows a lot of work and talent standing in for money. But there are some bad elements to it,  mainly a lack of originality .

I hope they try again with a more original storyline.

I'd like to see this company have the same resources that the makers of the clover field paradox did,  thyemhd beautiful sets,  effects,  etc and made a huge mess.
