Dark nature B & W film of 60's

OK, first post and brand new to forum.  I have been trying to find this movie for 40 years.  The only thing I know is it was probably B & W and from the 60's or very early 70's.  There was a scene with some go-go girls in a cage and on a movie screen, in the movie, I believe there was a murder being committed by a person with an ax.  It was centered around a hot girl who may have had a drug problem or something like that.  I am a pretty normal guy, but this movie just haunted me as I was a teenager back then and wanted to try to find out what it was.

Thanks for the guess, but not it.  It seem to be very plot weak.  The ax man was on  a television that they were showing in the movie, not part of the movie.  The girl reminded of Season Hubley, but I have looked at her films and none of them fit and probably before her appearances.
